Where possible, we will deliver your order using our own driver at the stated delivery charge.
If delivery by our own driver (Frans) is not possible or not the most suitable option, we will find a suitable transport solution and provide you with a bespoke transport quote in advance.
This way, we ensure that you always know exactly what the transport costs will be in advance.
Delivery charges will be calculated definitively after the order has been placed, based on the delivery address, volume and number of pallets. We will contact you regarding this.
Transport & delivery
Gerrits Magazijninrichting BV supplies warehouse fittings and racking systems The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
As our products can vary considerably in size, weight and quantity, we determine the delivery method on a per-order basis. Small parts can be sent as parcels, whilst larger or heavier items are usually delivered on a pallet or by lorry.
The Netherlands
We deliver throughout the Netherlands.
Depending on the size and weight of the order, it will be delivered:
as a parcel;
on a pallet;
by lorry;
or using a suitable means of transport for longer and/or heavy materials.
For larger orders, several pallets or a lorryload may be required.
The expected delivery time is stated in the order or quotation. For products that are available straight from stock, we aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible.
On-site delivery
The order will be delivered to the delivery address provided by the customer.
The customer is responsible for providing a easily accessible and suitable delivery address.
When ordering large or heavy warehouse equipment, the following should be taken into account:
the accessibility of the delivery address;
the access routes;
the available manoeuvring space;
any height or weight restrictions;
the ability to unload the goods safely.
Standard delivery means delivery to an accessible location. Unloading using a tail lift or a portable forklift is not included as standard with every consignment. If a specific unloading arrangement is required, this must be discussed in advance.
We assume that a forklift truck will be available on site to unload the goods.
Belgium
Gerrits Magazijninrichting BV also supplies business customers in Belgium.
In principle, the same guidelines apply to deliveries within Belgium as to those to the Netherlands. The delivery method is determined by the size, weight and quantity of the products ordered.
Delivery can take place:
as a parcel;
on a pallet;
by lorry;
or by other suitable means of transport for large or long items.
For larger or non-standard consignments, a separate transport charge can be calculated in advance.
Delivery addresses in Belgium
The customer must ensure that the delivery address is easily accessible for the chosen mode of transport.
When placing your order, please therefore let us know of any special requirements, for example:
a narrow access road;
a fenced-off area;
limited opening hours;
a ban on loading or unloading;
a business location that is difficult to reach;
limited room for manoeuvre;
specific safety or access regulations.
If, due to circumstances, the carrier is unable to unload at the delivery address, additional transport or waiting time charges may apply. These charges may, where reasonable and applicable, be passed on to the customer.
Germany
Gerrits Magazijninrichting BV supplies warehouse fittings and racking systems to business customers in Germany.
For Germany, orders can be delivered as parcel, pallet or lorry consignments.
Due to the greater distance and the various transport options available, transport costs may vary from order to order.
For large, heavy or long items, the delivery charge will be calculated separately where necessary.
Delivery in Germany
The customer is responsible for providing a correct and easily accessible delivery address.
When placing your order, please always provide any details regarding the delivery address.
Examples of this include:
restricted access for lorries;
limited opening hours;
a business park with access requirements;
a narrow access road;
limited room for manoeuvre;
a requirement for notification by telephone;
specific unloading instructions.
If further information is required to ensure correct delivery, Gerrits Magazijninrichting may request this information from the customer in advance.
Delivery charges
Delivery charges depend on, amongst other things:
the number of items;
the number of pallets;
the weight;
the dimensions;
the length of the goods;
the destination;
the chosen method of transport;
any additional unloading facilities.
For smaller standard deliveries, the delivery charges can be displayed during the ordering process.
For large, heavy, long or mixed orders, a tailored transport price are calculated.
If an order consists of both small and large items, it may be more cost-effective to transport them together.
Large and long items
Warehouse fittings often include long and heavy components, such as:
pallet racking beams;
uprights;
suspension arms;
shelves;
profiles;
collision protection;
mesh walls;
complete shelving components.
These items cannot always be sent via standard parcel delivery.
For products of this kind, transport on pallets or by lorry may be necessary.
For larger orders, the delivery options and costs are tailored to the order in question.
Delivery and unloading
The driver delivers the goods to the agreed delivery address.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that someone is available to take delivery of the goods, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
The unloading of heavy or bulky warehouse goods is not automatically included.
If an order requires specific unloading equipment, such as a tail lift, forklift or crane, this must be specified in advance.
Where Gerrits Magazijninrichting or the carrier has confirmed in advance that a particular unloading facility will be used, this will be taken into account in the transport planning.
Delivery arrangement
If the carrier needs to contact the customer prior to delivery, we will use the contact details provided when the order was placed.
So please ensure that:
the telephone number is correct;
someone is available around the expected delivery time;
the delivery address is correct;
any unloading instructions have been provided in advance.
For some shipments, the carrier may give advance notice of delivery.
A stated delivery time is for guidance only and does not automatically constitute a guaranteed delivery time.
Delays during transport
Although we make every effort to deliver orders within the agreed or stated timeframe, delays may occur during transport.
Possible causes include, for example:
traffic problems;
weather conditions;
busy periods for transport operators;
technical problems;
amended transport schedule;
conditions at the delivery address.
Whenever we are aware of a relevant delay, we try to inform the customer as soon as possible.
Inspection on receipt
Please check your order as soon as possible upon delivery.
Please check the following:
whether the number of packages/pallets matches the delivery;
whether the packaging is visibly damaged;
whether the products supplied correspond to the order;
whether there is any visible damage caused during transport.
If there is any visible damage, we recommend that you take photographs of it straight away.
Please report any damage or discrepancies to Gerrits Magazijninrichting as soon as possible, quoting the order number.
Reporting transport damage does not affect consumers’ statutory rights.
Unable to deliver
If a delivery cannot be made because the delivery address is inaccessible, no one is present when their presence is required, or the necessary unloading facilities are not available, the carrier may take the goods back or have to reschedule the delivery.
Any additional transport costs arising as a result may be passed on if this situation is attributable to the customer and if this is permitted by law and under the terms of the contract.
For business orders, this is subject to the agreements made and our terms and conditions.
Collection
Where collection of an order is possible, this will be arranged with the customer in advance.
When collecting large or heavy items, the customer is responsible for providing a suitable vehicle and, where necessary, suitable equipment for loading, securing and transporting the goods.
The goods must be transported in a safe and legally compliant manner.
